Tim is a cinematographer based in Berlin, shooting commercials, music videos, and brand films wherever the work takes him. He's drawn to natural light and tends to work in a quiet, observant way. The kind of images he likes best usually come from just paying attention to what's actually happening in front of the camera, rather than forcing a moment into being.
Directors and agencies often come back to Tim because he gets involved earlier and stays involved longer than a typical DP. He likes shaping ideas together, talking through references, figuring out how a concept actually wants to be shot. Years of commercial work have given him a good sense for how productions really move. He knows where time gets lost, where budgets get tight, where a small adjustment on day one saves everyone trouble on day three. When weather turns, a location falls through, or the schedule shifts under everyone's feet, his instinct is to find the workaround rather than the excuse.
He's led camera and lighting teams on everything from built studio sets to long, complicated location shoots abroad. He's also spent a lot of time on sets with talent who need things to feel calm and unrushed, including well-known faces, public figures, and kids, and he puts real effort into making that atmosphere happen.
On the equipment side, he's experienced with Technocranes, Ukraine Arms, analogue film, and the various specialised systems that come with bigger productions. He stays close to the project from the first conversation through the final grade, keeping the creative idea and the practical reality in conversation with each other the whole way.
